It was a privilege to have Dr. Naeem uz Zafar, the Chief Statistician of Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS), for an informative session on the topic of “Population census: Issues, Challenges and the way forward”. During his presentation, Dr. Naeem uz Zafar addressed several critical aspects, including the census objectives, controversies associated with earliear censuses, insights from the census advisory committee regarding deficiencies in the 6th census and its recommendation, strategies for implementing a digital census system and a comprehensive overview of recent population and demographic trends.
