Applied Economics Research Centre, organized a Workshop on “Pakistan: Fisheries Value Chain Assessment for its Improvement”. The workshop marks the completion of a project, funded by the World Bank. The purpose of the workshop was to take the endorsement on the recommendations and the action plans forwarded in the research report. The workshop was attended by a number of stakeholders all over the Sindh. The main participants were, representatives of the Directorate of Fisheries, Marine Fisheries Department, representatives of Fishermen Cooperative Society (managing harbour), officials from Financial Sectors, representatives of Research Institutes such as World Wildlife Forum and Pakistan Agriculture Research Centre. The workshop is also attended by the representatives of the fishing community as well.
